Our New Jersey-based clients originally purchased a winter home in a Vero Beach community and retained Spectrum to provide design services for the renovation of their West Indies-style home. Our clients were thrilled with the results, but just as the project was completed, they happened to “take a look” at a newly built oceanfront home in the same community. For an avid surfer/paddle boarder and his wife, the allure of living with direct ocean access and views was enough to convince them to purchase the home. Prior to signing a contract though, Spectrum was consulted to determine if the newly purchased furnishing and artwork from the renovated home could be adapted for use in the new home.

The Spectrum team oversaw the design of the new spaces, incorporating existing furnishings and artwork, then repurposing them in different combinations along with additional pieces required to fill the greater square footage of the oceanfront home. A minimalistic, coastal flair was achieved with contemporary furnishings, lighting and artwork, along with well-thought-out furniture groupings to define functional spaces in an open floor plan that takes full advantage of waterfront vistas and indoor/outdoor living spaces. Throughout the home, neutral color palettes, one-of-a-kind artwork and interesting textures provide warmth and sophisticated charm to this winter retreat.
